RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
RE is central to the purpose of Claines CE Primary school because, as a church school, we see that the Christian faith informs all aspects of our life together and commits us to a search for truth.
RE at Claines explores how individuals and communities make meaning and sense of their lives through the major religions of the world. It enables pupils to know about, understand and respond to the important and ultimate questions of life.
Religious Education does not intend either to urge religious beliefs on children, or to compromise the integrity of their own beliefs by promoting one religion above another. It develops enquiry and analytical skills, as children are encouraged to reflect on and respond to what they learn to become religiously literate.
